The Virginal Conception
December 22, 2007 by pistolpete

“At the very moment Mary consented to become the Mother of God, several miraculous events took place. The Holy Spirit formed from the most pure blood of Mary’s heart a little body which he fashioned into a perfect living being: God created the most perfect soul that ever could be created. Eternal Wisdom, the Son of God, drew the body and soul into union with that person. Here we have the great wonder of heaven and earth, the prodigious excess of the love of God… God became man without ceasing to be God. This God-man is Jesus Christ and his name means Savior.” (Louis de Montfort, from The Love of Eternal Wisdom)

isn’t it astonishing what God can fashion from an obedient heart as his raw material
Peter,
I wanted to take this time to personally thank you for causing me to think. Yes…you made me think.
I’ve had many low points in 2007. It was a trying year. But there were also a few high points and getting to know you and your blog (though as limited as that it) was a high point for me. Your uplifting countenance was able to permeate the text and sometimes, that was exactly what the doctor ordered. I never read a post of yours or one of your comments that didn’t give me pause…for a myriad of reasons.
I feel that because of 2007, 2008 will be a rebuilding year. I’m in a state of flux, but it’s a good kind of confusion. Sometimes malaise can work to your favor. In my case, it will. I want to thank you for your unwitting contribution to my impending stabilization.
Merry Christmas to you and your readers, Pete. It’s been a real for me.
I wish man kind peace of mind in the coming year.
Best,
Laurie Kendrick
The Pistol fires back: Those are very thoughtful words, Laurie, and they mean a lot coming from you. I was just asked to name my favorite blog for 2007 and, without hesitation, I said “Laurie Kendrick.” I hope you will stay in touch.
crookedshore,
Yes it is astonishing as to what God can cause to come to fruition, courtesy of one’s obedience.
What’s even more “astonishing” however, is that as a believers we sometimes believe more so from a superficial level; of His power to move people to do His mighty will, when it is manifest, we are in fact dumbfounded or in awe. Perhaps it’s because of our own personal limitations that we reserve, that cause us to react as such to His works.
